An Easier IP
Address To Remember;
Dealing With A Dynamic IP Address...
|
There is one major obstacle to overcome
when using home and
commercial security cameras over the internet. Most locations that
you want to connect to will only have a Dynamic IP address instead
of a Static IP address.
Typically, when you want to view your camera system over the
internet, you enter the IP address of that computer into the
RemoteView software. With a Dynamic IP address, the IP will be
constantly changing and checking your camera system from off
site will be impossible.
There
are several companies that provide a service to get around
this difficulty.
DigiGuard Security
uses No-IP.com to assign a fully qualified domain
name to your Dynamic IP address so you will not have to worry about
remembering the numeric address each time.
With No-IP.com's
services this problem can be overcome with their
DNS Plus service
running
somewhere on the same network as the
cameras, anytime your IP address changes they will know about
it and be able to direct you to that remote machine regardless of
what IP address it is currently assigned.
With the No-IP.com plus service you can assign a fully qualified
domain name to your dynamic IP address so you will not have to
worry about remembering the numeric address.
DigiGuard Security
is not responsible for, nor do we offer support for
your questions regarding No-IP.com's
services. We offer these
instructions soley as a tutorial for our academy to make it simpler
for you, our customer.
